ADLINK introduces its first fanless medical computer from new Topaz line

ADLINK Technology has unveiled the first of its new TOPAZ line of medical computers, the 3rd edition of EN-60601-1 certified TPZ-1300, featuring I/O connectivity, wireless support, and duty-specific performance processors with long life support. The TPZ-1300 has been designed to be ruggedised, making is suitable for use in environments such as telemedicine, NIS (nursing information systems), and medical administration.

A fanless and cable-free structure ensures that the computer is able to offer extended durability for long-term usage, and its easy-to-clean housing and noiseless operation means that it is able to satisfy stringent medical application requirements. An anti-bacterial coating option is also available.

The TPZ-1300 has been designed to be robust and to be able to cope with vibration up to 5G and 100G shock, meaning that it meets the needs of telemedicine applications including telecardiology, telepathology, and nursing workstation use. In a mobile nursing workstation, for example, care providers can view electronic medical records (EMR), medication data, and administrative documentation, as well as enter data and connect to data centres.

The TPZ-1300 is equipped with the Atom D2550/N2600 processor and is able to combine improved levels of performance while conserving power consumption. The TPZ-1300 also provides I/O function from six USB ports, 3 GbE ports, 4 COM ports, one mini PCI-E slot, and 4 digital inputs and outputs to optimize communication and control between multiple devices.

The TPZ-1300 also supports multiple OS, including Windows 7, Windows 7 Embedded, Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, and WinCE 7.0.
