Bulgin has been designing and manufacturing environmentally sealed connectors in house for almost 30 years, and the latest addition to the Buccaneer range – the Buccaneer 6000 Series – marks another significant step forward for interconnectivity solutions. This innovative new offering combines the characteristic compact size and durability of the Buccaneer range with a unique and easy-to-use pushpull coupling system which can be connected up to 10 times faster than a traditional screw thread mechanism. A unique locking mechanism – requiring just a 30o twist of the coupling ring to completely secure the connector – ensures rapid installation, replacement and maintenance of equipment, without the need for specialist tools or expertise. The Buccaneer range is designed to withstand the harshest environments, meeting IP66, IP68 and IP69K standards, and the new connectors are available in fully interchangeable metal and plastic constructions, giving engineers and product design professionals even greater flexibility in systems design.
The Buccaneer 6000 Series includes data (USB V2 or RJ45 Ethernet), signal and power versions up to 16A and 277V. All versions feature body mouldings and pin carriers that have been specifically designed to create a robust interface while avoiding damage during coupling. This guarantees a correctly sealed connection – even where access is restricted – and gives engineers and product design professionals even greater flexibility in systems design for a broad range of applications.
