Businesses in the electronics and software technologies industry are being offered the opportunity to find out how they can work with BAE Systems, one of the largest global manufacturing businesses.
The BAE Systems Maritime Science and Technology Conference, organised by the ESTnet, the specialist network for electronic and software technology businesses in Wales, will enable businesses to gain greater insight into the maritime technology requirements of BAE Systems in its development of Royal Navy ships and submarines.
As the UK’s only producer of ships and submarines, BAE Systems is looking for new partners to work with that can offer technology to support sensor systems, navigation, communications, data processing and novel battery technologies.
Organised in conjunction with Electronics, Sensors, Photonics (ESP) Knowledge Transfer Network, the event will take place at the Cardiff City Stadium on 7 February 2013 and is the only supplier event to be held in the UK by BAE Systems in 2013.
Commenting Avril Lewis, managing director of the ESTnet, said: “Having the only BAE Systems UK supplier event in Wales is a real coup, both for us and for the businesses it has the potential to benefit. The footprint of the supplier base to BAE Systems is far reaching so we are expecting a great deal of interest from organisations of all kinds from across the UK.
“The ESTnet exists to increase the profitability and prosperity of the electronic and software technologies industry in Wales. Access to events like this that have the potential to have a huge impact on a business really demonstrates the value we bring to our members.”
