Integrated Technologies Limited (ITL), the UK-based instrumentation design consultancy and manufacturer, is set to unveil a range of industry firsts at next month’s Medica Exhibition & Conference, in Dusseldorf, Germany. ITL is a market leader in the design and manufacture of medical diagnostic and analytical instruments and supports customers throughout every stage of the concept, design, development, prototyping and manufacturing cycle.
Among the instruments that will be on display will be a number of industry firsts. ITL builds, tests and delivers the Endomagnetics SentiMag instrument for cancer staging and its treatment. The system is based on magnetic materials rather than radioisotopes, and comprises the SentiMag instrument and its magnetic tracer, Sienna+ to locate lymph nodes involved in the spread of cancer. Significant demand for the SentiMag instruments demonstrates its early and growing acceptance into the market.
With qualified manufacturing facilities opened in China in 2008, mirroring the Ashford UK facilities, ITL is able to support Endomagnetics’ manufacturing on a worldwide basis.
Also on display will be the latest in food safety testing equipment from TOXIMet Ltd. The TOXIQuant, is a new-technology instrument, that delivers highly accurate food testing far more quickly that is the case with current systems on the market.
The TOXIQuant system can accurately and affordably measure the level of mycotoxins (responsible for 56% of all border rejections) in edible nuts at the regulatory level to ‘sub parts per billion’ accuracy. The results are shown in minutes rather than hours or even days, and testing can take place outside laboratory conditions. According to ITL it is suited for testing across the four major agricultural commodity groups – nuts, cereals, dried fruits and coffee beans.
The system is a disruptive, IP-protected technology and is capable of simultaneously measuring multiple toxins in one test. It offers users a highly significant step forward in the measurement and identification of mycotoxins and this new ability to provide real-time, regular testing of the food quality, every time it is to be transported, brings potentially huge commercial and operational benefits to the whole supply chain.
Vitl – part of Integrated Technologies Ltd (ITL) – is a manufacturer of Laboratory Instrumentation in its own right. ITL will be demonstrating the new Vitl Co-Mix mixer, which combines multiple mixing options in one compact instrument, and supports 96 and 384 well microplates in skirted, semi-skirted and un-skirted variants plus MTPS and deep-well plates, 0.2ml PCR tubes and PCR strips. It also handles 0.5, 1.5 and 2.0ml micro test tubes. An integral Vortex module supports individual tubes in numerous tube formats.
Key features include an intuitive touch-screen interface, pre-programming with commonly used mixing profiles, while user-defined variants can be simply added to suit user needs.
An innovative plate-holding mechanism enables smooth manipulation of microplates. There is no danger of sample spillage or contamination and repeatable results are guaranteed.
Applications include the mixing of PCR & enzyme preparations; re-suspension of pellets – bacteria, DNA, cell cultures; mixing of samples during incubation stages and immunoassays such as ELISA.
