Rutronik improves web offer with real-time service for customers

Rutronik has made additional improvements to its webg@te online platform, customers can now receive their own individually tailored overview of current prices, availability, delivery dates and tracking. A range of shipping and payment options will also be available for selection. Rurtronik said that the new design makes webg@te clearer, and there is a smartphone-optimised version for mobile access.

Webg@te provides access to more than one million items, and customers can use the intelligent search functions to select the components they need. When selecting products now, customer-specific current prices will be displayed as well as the availability in real time. When placing an order, the customer chooses either standard or express delivery. They then receive the binding delivery date and the shipping costs in accordance with the shipping option chosen.

Payment can be made via credit card or on receipt of an invoice. Once placed, the order can be tracked in real time at the click of a mouse.

“Internet purchasing is the most efficient means of procurement. In order to speed up the processes even further, we are constantly working to improve our webg@te,” explains Tilo Rollwa, Director e-commerce at Rutronik. “With the real-time connection and the additional options, the Internet now provides our customers with all the services which were once only available via personal contact – but faster and with improved clarity across our entire range of more than one million items.”

The new options complement current webg@te features which include comprehensive, intelligent search options as per technical parameters, parts numbers or full text as well as RFP, direct and sample ordering. Thanks to the upload option for Excel files, customers can now also automatically select from the items available at Rutronik. With a click of their mouse, they can place items in their shopping basket and then either order them directly or request a personal proposal. Suggestions for alternative replacement items with a list of deviating parameters are also helpful in the event of discontinued components or long delivery times.

Existing PCNs (product change notifications) are always visible on the product. When required, assistance in selecting components can be sought from the Rutronik product consultant and direct contact with the product specialist is also possible via webg@te.

In the procurement area, the customer can view their orders, contracts, items and stock levels, with order number and status, preferred date and delivery date and real-time order tracking.
