TÜV SÜD Product Service is investing in a new large vibration shaker that will make it the UK’s leading environmental testing laboratory. For the first time, the industry will have access to a testing ‘one-stop-shop’ with three large vibration shakers on a single site, backed up by complimentary environmental testing services, such as climatic, altitude and lightning testing. This will significantly reduce the time to market for UK manufacturers and minimise testing costs.
The new vibration shaker will be operational at TÜV SÜD’s Fareham laboratory from March 2013. It is based on a large electromagnetic LE340 shaker and will be upgraded with a new amplifier to provide 150KN of thrust with 50mm peak-to-peak displacement and will be coupled to a hydrostatic 7 bearing slip table with a working area of 1.5m x 1.5m.
