AVX Corporation has released its new interactive Industrial Connector Selector Guide, which provides a comprehensive overview of its 46 innovative industrial connector solutions. Featuring embedded links that direct users to both application specific product catalogues and individual series datasheets, the guide is organised by application (wire-to-board, board-to-board, wire-to-wire, and specialty), providing at-a-glance accessibility to the company’s niche offerings.
Drawing on more than 60 years’ experience, during which it has introduced a host of new technologies, acquired several patents, and pioneered trendsetting industry approvals, including the first UL approvals for uninsulated single contacts, AVX has developed a broad range of connector solutions specifically engineered to solve customer design problems for which existing products have proven insufficient. Once tooled, the connectors are made available through distribution to provide off-the-shelf solutions for customers facing similar design challenges.
“Rather than designing standard off-the-shelf connector products like most manufacturers, we use our proven insulation displacement (IDC), poke-home, compression, and UL-certified single contact technologies to develop interconnect solutions specifically designed to solve the cost, performance, and geometric challenges that engineers run into when designing next-generation electronics,” said Tom Anderson, Product Manager at AVX. “As such, some of our products, like our patented single piece compression contacts, are completely new to the market while others, like our single pogo pin contacts, offer alternative designs of established technologies.”
AVX’s industrial wire-to-board, board-to-board, wire-to-wire, and specialty connectors are intended for use in a vast array of applications, including harsh commercial, industrial, transportation, solid-state lighting, portable, handheld, and medical applications.
