XP Power has announced the fleXPower X15 and XM15 series of multiple output configurable AC-DC power supplies designed for high power medical and IT/industrial applications. The X15 series complies with the EN/UL 60950 safety specification for IT and industrial applications. The series meets the demanding requirements of the latest 3rd edition medical safety standards, and having low leakage, the XM15 series suit applications in medical diagnostic appliances, CAT scan and MRI equipment.

Linear Technology has introduced the LT4363, a new overvoltage protection controller that provides overvoltage and overcurrent protection to high-availability electronic systems. Supply voltages surge whenever currents flowing through long inductive power buses change abruptly and automotive batteries can experience a condition that is known as load-dump, where the voltage can stay elevated for many milliseconds.

TE Connectivity has developed an enhanced generation of electrical circuit breakers for trains which eliminate the disadvantages associated with conventional mechanical, pneumatic circuit breakers. The innovative “VESA vacuum circuit breaker” (VCB) for electric trains is the first all electro-magnetically operated system for 25 kV and 15 kV vehicles.

Semikron has introduced an inverter platform that offers system integrators an easy-to-use and versatile inverter to meet the stringent demands of the renewable energy market. The Semistack assembly is a high power, three-phase inverter system that uses Semikron’s SKiiP intelligent power module (IPM) with integrated heat sink, IGBT, driver with protective sensors and functions, all optimised for renewable energy applications.

XP Power has made a number of additions to its LDU series of PCB mount DC input constant current LED drivers. Comprising four models offering power outputs of 5, 7, 14 and 20 Watts, these highly efficient LED drivers have a typical efficiency of 93% for the 5 – 14 Watt models and 95% for the 20 Watt devices.

The new LTC4366 from Linear Technology is an overvoltage protection controller for electronic systems. Operating from 9V to greater than 500V, the LTC4366 floating surge stopper utilizes an adjustable floating topology to enable very high voltage operation independent of the voltage rating of the LTC4366’s internal circuitry.
