Powerstar, UK manufacturer of leading-edge smart energy solutions, has worked with EcoVadis in order to achieve a silver Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) formal certification – placing Powerstar in the top 30 per cent of companies evaluated.
The annual EcoVadis sustainability analysis covers four areas – environment, labour practices, human rights, and sustainable procurement. For these areas, a wide range of documentation and information was provided by Powerstar for evaluation during the assessment.
Powerstar was evaluated in all of the above areas of CSR, highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainability and colleague wellbeing and building upon its existing certifications such as Environmental Management ISO 14001:2015 and the SafeContractor accreditation obtained earlier this year.
Founded in 2007, EcoVadis is the first collaborative platform for providing sustainability ratings for global procurement processes. The evaluation is highly regarded by major blue-chip companies who expect the highest standards when selecting trusted suppliers.

Powerstar aims to keep working with EcoVadis to help maintain the high standards of CSR it sets itself, and the company’s next assessment will take place in 2019.
