Overview
Q2 2026 was a period of contrasts. Revenues continued to fall, down 13% compared with the same period in 2025, though only 3% lower than Q1 2026.
Orders, however, rebounded sharply. Some members reported Q2 increases of up to 50%, with overall orders rising 27% quarter‑on‑quarter. Against the half‑year 2025, total orders are now up 8%.
Several markets delivered strong performances, though Mil/Aero was unexpectedly flat. The most significant challenge was the drop in distribution share — down 28% and now at its lowest level since 2021. With distribution accounting for 42% of members’ combined revenues, this decline is notable. It remains unclear whether the cause is destocking, inventory realignment or the unwinding of excess stock.
Despite these pressures, the interconnect sector continues to show resilience in the face of domestic and global challenges.
Summary
Although revenues have taken a noticeable hit, the exceptionally strong order intake points to potential improvements in Q3 and Q4.
