The single-board mini-computer Raspberry Pi, which was originally developed for pupils and students, is now used in many areas of industrial automation.
For the latest design, the Raspberry Pi 5, which is considerably more powerful than all its predecessors, Fischer Elektronik is now offering a suitable case in its standard portfolio in addition to the existing cases for Raspberry Pi 2 to Raspberry Pi 4.
The solid case consists of an upper and lower shell made of punched and bent aluminum sheet with a thickness of 1.5 mm. The respective circuit board is attached to four steel spacer bushes in the bottom shell using M2.5 pan-head screws. Quick access to the inside of the case is made possible by fastening the top shell to the bottom shell with just one screw and the tongue and groove system on the front of the case. The ventilation openings in the upper and lower shells ensure good heat dissipation, which is particularly advantageous for the Raspberry Pi 5. If required, Fischer Elektronik offers heatsinks from its extensive range in all sizes and designs for the Raspberry Pi cases. The Active Cooler made of an aluminum heatsink with a temperature-controlled fan is available especially for the Raspberry Pi 5. This ensures efficient heat dissipation even under heavy load and thus keeps the Raspberry Pi 5 processor at a regular operating temperature. If required, the RSP cases can be fitted with non-slip, transparent device feet with adhesive on one side. If wall mounting is required, mounting brackets (option L) can be selected which are also suitable for the standard VESA MIS-D 75 x 75 monitor mount. DIN rail mounting is also possible with the KL option. The decorative appearance of the cases is achieved by the anodized surface. Completely natural-coloured (ME) and completely black (SA) anodized cases are available. For all other standard colors, the bottom shells are black anodized, while the top shells are natural colour anodized (MS), blue (B, similar to RAL 5015), red (R, similar to RAL 3001) or orange gold (OG, similar to RAL 1028).
The scope of delivery of the cases includes the top and bottom shells, screws for fastening the circuit board and for connecting the top and bottom shells as well as four non-slip, self-adhesive device feet. With the L option, mounting brackets, two brackets are supplied and with the KL option, a top-hat rail mounting with the corresponding screws.
