OMC has introduced its ClearSource range of solid-state emitters that have been designed to use a new die bonding technique to connect the LED chip electronically to the leadframe, eliminating ‘dark spots’ and improving beam precision.

Cypress Semiconductor has said that its TrueTouch Gen4 touchscreen controller family is now able to deliver multiple new advanced features, including new tracking of gloved fingers on capacitive touchscreens. Gen4 has been designed to enable accurate navigation of touchscreens even with thick gloves on, improving user convenience when it comes to using either smartphones or other portable electronics.

OMC has announced the launch of its ProfiLED Lightbar product family, which is intended to reduce cost and offer an improved appearance, especially in low and medium volume applications. Unless production volumes are very high, the cost of developing a custom lightbar is prohibitive for most applications.

Featuring built-in LEDs, which are visible both in direct sunlight and at wide angles, VCC’s new 22mm CNX 722 Series TuffLED indicators are resistant to shock, vibration, and moisture, and are RoHS compliant.

Everlight Electronics has introduced a new member to its ITR series of photo interrupters for use in optical switches, digital cameras and printers, the ultra small outline slotted type ITR1205ST11A/TR. A slotted type opto interrupter detects an object when it enters the gap of the slotted switch and blocks the light path between the emitter and detector.

Everlight Electronics has introduced a new ultra-thin 5630D mid power LED series (part number 62-217D) that is especially suited for LED light bars, standard and omni-directional LED light bulbs and LED high power bulbs.

NXP Semiconductors has introduced 15 new reference design boards featuring NXP’s broad portfolio of mains-dimmable and non-dimmable solid-state lighting (SSL) driver ICs. Each reference board is built around a best-in-class GreenChip LED driver IC, and has been designed to minimise the total EBOM (engineering bill of materials) cost while maintaining expected performance requirements for specific lighting applications.
