Murata has introduced the SPM series of low power isolated DC-DC modules designed specifically for use in electronic equipment that will be subject to harsh environments such as outdoor communications, applications with little or no forced air cooling, smart grid and industrial process control equipment. The SPM15 series is designed for applications that require Vin ranges of 9-36V or 18-75V @ 15W, while the SPM25 series covers applications that require Vin = 36-75V @ 25W.

Stadium Power, a UK based provider of power supply solutions, is now offering now highly competitive single output models from its low cost, high performance SA series of open frame power supplies. Available with either 12, 24 or 48VDC outputs the SA60 has a 60W output on a compact platform and the SA100 provides 100W in an industry standard footprint.

Texas Instruments (TI) has introduced a next-generation wireless power transfer circuit with foreign object detection that will allow designers to bring to market 3-coil, 5-V and 12-V A6 charging stations compliant with the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) 1.1 specification. The bq500412 controller, which is shipping in volume production, requires half the components compared to other solutions.

Exar Corporation has introduced a new high-power switching controller in its line of DC-DC power conversion products. The XRP6141 Synchronous Step Down Controller supports point-of-load (POL) supplies up to 35A and is designed to achieve excellent transient response and output accuracy using Exar"s proprietary emulated current mode Constant On-Time (COT) control loop.

Dialog Semiconductor has unveiled a high efficiency AC/DC adapter interface IC for Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 power supplies. The new iW620 rapid charge interface IC resides on the secondary side of the AC/DC charger power supply and works with Dialog’s iW1760 PrimAccurate primary-side digital pulse width modulation (PWM) controller.

Linear Technology has introduced the LTC3874, a dual phase synchronous step-down slave controller that generates currents up to 300A when paired with a companion master controller by extending the phase count in multiphase applications.

International Rectifier has introduced the HTH27022S and HTM27092S, isolated hybrid hermetic DC-DC converters for high temperature and high shock environments such as oil drilling applications and mud turbine generators.

Diodes Incorporated has introduced a complete family of dual gate, advanced, ultra-low power CMOS logic devices. Designed for low voltage, low energy operation, the miniature 74AUP2G family extends the battery cell lifetime of a variety of hand-held consumer electronics, including cell phones, e-book readers and tablets.

Vicor Corporation has unveiled the first module utilising its Converter housed in Package (ChiP) power component platform. These new ChiP bus converter modules (BCM) supply 1.2 kW at 48 V with 98% peak efficiency and 115 W/cm3 power density. This performance – 4X the density of competing solutions – enables efficient, high voltage DC distribution infrastructure in datacenter, telecom, and industrial applications.

Murata has extended its OKLP range of “Power Block” products from Murata Power Solutions. In addition to the recently introduced 25A, Murata now offers the OKLP-X/35-W12-C, a 35A Power Block solution. This Power Block concept sits between a discrete Point-of-Load (PoL) design and that of a complete non-isolated buck converter module and is, essentially, a non-isolated buck converter without the PWM controller.
