FORTEC Elektronik AG has completed the acquisition of Nottrot B.V.

FORTEC United Kingdom strengthens its rugged display offering for maritime, military and industrial environments

FORTEC United Kingdom has announced that its parent company, FORTEC Elektronik AG, has completed the acquisition of Nottrot B.V., a Dutch manufacturer of high-performance display systems designed for harsh and mission-critical environments.

This acquisition marks a significant strategic expansion for the FORTEC Group, unlocking new capabilities in maritime data visualisation and reinforcing its market position across defence and industrial sectors.

Nottrot B.V., founded in 2000 and headquartered in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, specialises in the design and manufacture of rugged monitors for maritime navigation, military command systems, and industrial control interfaces. Its product range includes DNV-approved displays, engineered for extreme reliability in environments subject to vibration, saltwater exposure, and wide temperature variations.

With this addition to the Group, FORTEC United Kingdom gains access to proven expertise in marine-grade electronics, complementing its existing offering in ruggedised TFT display assemblies, embedded computing, optical bonding, and touchscreen integration.

Sandra Maile, the CEO of FORTEC Elektronik AG, said: “With Nottrot, the FORTEC Group is gaining an established company with a high level of technical competence and a strong market position in special segments, which we will continue to develop in a targeted manner. The acquisition reinforces our position a s a leading provider of data visualisation solutions for demanding applications in the maritime sector but also in the defence market. Today’s signing of the purchase contract is the result of a co-operative process between the management of both companies as part of succession planning and underlines the selective, strategically focussed M&A approach of FORTEC. With the potential of our existing involvement in the power supplies sector in the Netherlands, we are planning to develop the range further in the next stage.”

The acquisition was completed through a cooperative succession planning process and is expected to enhance the Group’s vertical integration, enabling greater value-added services, design flexibility, and supply chain resilience.

As the market continues to demand more rugged, certified and application-specific visualisation systems, this move further positions FORTEC United Kingdom as a key partner for engineers designing technology for transportation, defence, maritime, and industrial applications, according to the company.
