RDS is proud to announce the availability of the new 8-inch letterbox format TFT screen from Solomon Goldentek Display (SGD Model GWTS80MNFG1E0). Many automotive manufacturers are moving towards smart rear-view mirrors. These devices are letterbox format screens that can display not only a simple rear-view but also other information such as tyre pressures, SAT-NAV and communications status. The new display from SGD was designed with this automotive application in mind, specifically with regard to the car rear-view mirror. However, it also has other applications such as digital signage, monitoring and medical systems.
General Description and Features
The GWTS80MNFG1E0 is a transmissive type, colour active matrix TFT (Thin Film Transistor) liquid crystal display (LCD) that uses amorphous silicon TFT as a switching device. This model is composed of a TFT-LCD module and back-light unit. With an overall size of 208mm (w) x 73mm (h) the panel is compact and at only 5.4mm thick is very thin and ideal where space is limited. The panel operates from a 2.8-3.5V supply, displaying 16.7 Million colours (8 bit).
