Gresham Power Electronics, a power conversion specialist, has announced the availability of two families of high power density power supplies that have now been approved to the most recent medical standard EN 60601-1 3rd Edition. The HD160 series of switching power supplies utilise advanced component and circuit technologies to deliver the industry’s smallest 160 watt switcher able to satisfy 1U height considerations, measuring just 102 x 51 x 27mm (4.00 x 2.00 x 1.06”).
The Gresham Power HD160 will provide up to 100W with just convection cooling while the more powerful HD365 Series of switching power supplies has a maximum output power of 365W and will provide convection cooled operation up to 220 Watts. Suitable for 1U applications the HD365 measures only 76 x 127 x 33mm (3.00 x 5.00 x 1.30”)
Standard features of both the HD160 and HD365 include; universal AC input with active power factor correction (PFC), flexible output configurations, 12V/1A auxiliary output to power fan, high efficiency operation of 90% (typical) and compliance to worldwide safety and EMC standards.
Both product ranges have been designed for Medical, Telecom and Industrial Applications and offer single outputs over the range 5 – 48 VDC with custom output voltages available to order.
Commenting Gareth Owen, Sales Manager at Gresham Power Electronics, said: “Having EN 60601-1 3rd Edition approvals on these two families of our highly successful low profile, high power density power supplies will make them very useful to designers of compact or rack mounted medical equipment.”
The full Gresham Power Electronics product range includes; OEM power supplies for advanced multi-media applications, industrial, communications and broadcast systems. Hot-swap power shelves and products for telecoms, medical, industrial and commercial applications as well as static frequency converters, DC UPS, distributed power systems and DC:AC inverters for Naval Defence systems.
