Rohde & Schwarz to showcase latest testing solutions enabling space innovation at UK Space Conference 2025
The Rohde & Schwarz stand at the UK Space Conference 2025 will highlight the critical importance of advanced testing solutions in accelerating innovation within the space sector. As space-based technologies such as satellite communications and non-terrestrial networks (NTNs) become central to global connectivity – including the future of 6G – robust, reliable testing tools are essential. By enabling precise simulation, monitoring, and analysis of satellite systems, Rohde & Schwarz supports the industry’s ability to innovate, ensure performance, and meet growing demands.
Taking place in Manchester on 16-17 July 2025, the UK Space Conference 2025 will focus on the critical role that space plays in technological innovation and highlight the direct impact that the sector has on all our daily lives. Delegates will appreciate why working and investing in the UK space sector is critical for the next decade of renewal and economic growth and on stand C2, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase the company’s test and measurement solutions that support this rapidly growing and demanding industry.
Stand C2 will feature solutions for three key areas: advanced satellite communications (SATCOM) device testing in new radio non-terrestrial networks (NR-NTNs), satellite payload and components testing, and satellite monitoring (SATMON) and interference hunting.
Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the newly released R&S FSWX signal and spectrum analyzer with the company’s experts. The R&S FSWX from Rohde & Schwarz is described as “the first of its kind, featuring multiple input ports and an internal multi-path architecture with cross-correlation capabilities”.
This architecture is designed to empower design engineers to overcome limitations in wideband signal analysis and address the challenges of future technologies. With its user-friendly applications and features, the R&S FSWX is suited for satellite applications – including testing modulated payload signals, amplifiers, frequency converters, and phased array antennas – and is designed to set a new standard for broadband signal and spectrum analysis.
Furthermore, visitors will learn how the R&S CMX500 system, which combines multi-band operation with multi-orbit support, enables equipment developers to simulate the effects of satellite constellations. NTNs are essential when looking to move connectivity beyond traditional ground-based infrastructure, especially in 6G networks, and the robust R&S CMX500 is complemented by the new tool Constellation Insight which simplifies the configuration and deployment of non-terrestrial networks.
Attendees will also see first-hand the benefits of using the R&S FSW and R&S SMW200A payload and component testers when it comes to replicating SATCOM channels. Both tools incorporate such advanced applications as OFDM and DVB-S2X generation and analysis, noise figure, Noise Power Ratio (NPR) measurements, multi-carrier group delay and more. With the aid of a new custom dynamic fading option and the R&S Space Nexus application, the R&S SMW200A makes it easier than ever to emulate satellite communication channels on the low earth orbit (LEO) and medium earth orbit (MEO) satellites that play a crucial role in NTN testing.
At the same time, the ability to maximize the efficiency of signal detection and identification by using R&S GSACSM communications systems testing software will be given prominence on the stand. R&S GSACSM is a SATMON software solution designed for remote spectrum monitoring and signal analysis in satellite communications. The software enables multi-device SATCOM signal monitoring and supports various spectrum analyzer functions, as well as trapping systems for capturing, isolating and analyzing signals, advanced signal detection and identification algorithms.
“Rohde & Schwarz has a long history of successful engagement with the satellite and mobile communities and have built a broad portfolio of applicable tools as well as technical competencies,” said Engin Kodal, product manager spectrum analyzers and signal generators at Rohde & Schwarz. “We are excited for the opportunity to demonstrate to the space sector the technological solutions we have on offer that will make it possible to explore opportunities, overcome challenges and drive the sector forward.”
