MSC Gleichmann to host “how to embed a graphical LCD user interface” workshop

MSC Gleichmann has announced that it will be running a one-day workshop targeting hardware and software design engineers who are considering a graphical LCD user interface for their next embedded application. This full-day, hands-on training, focused on the Renesas 32-bit RX-series microcontroller development environment, will take place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, West Midlands on Thursday 14 March.

Sessions will explain the fundamentals of driving a graphics LCD, first showing how this can be achieved using the RX62N Starter Kit to directly drive a WQVGA TFT display with touchscreen interface and then looking at how the software can be adapted for other similar standard displays and delegates will also have the opportunity to develop a simple real-world GUI using the Renesas Graphical Application Programming Interface (GAPI) software, building up code to create an interactive, animated screen.

“This workshop is very much a practical course, aimed primarily at design and software engineers”, Adrian Elms, Business Development Director at MSC Gleichmann said, adding, “Managers of embedded design teams may also benefit from the first-hand experience of working with the latest MCU development tools.” Attendees are expected to have a reasonable working knowledge of the ‘C’ programming language and some knowledge of embedded RTOS, while not essential, would be helpful.

The seminar runs from 9am to 4:30pm and costs £49, which includes the refreshments, buffet lunch and museum entrance already mentioned, along with a RX62N promotional board, comprehensive data pack and various other discount vouchers, prize draw entries and other promotions.
