Vishay Intertechnology has released a new n-channel TrenchFET power MOSFET in the thermally enhanced PowerPAK SO-8 package that extends the company"s ThunderFET technology to 150 V. The Siliconix SiR872ADP now offers low on-resistance of 18 mO at 10 V and 23 mO at 7.5 V while maintaining low gate charge of 31 nC typical at 10 V and 22.8 nC typical at 7.5 V.

New from Linear Technology the LT3954 is a DC/DC converter that has been designed to operate as a constant-current source and constant-voltage regulator with an internal 5A switch. The device’s internal PWM dimming generator makes it suitable for driving high current LEDs, and it also has features suitable for charging batteries and supercapacitors.

Cree and Delta Energy Systems have announced a breakthrough in the photovoltaic (PV) inverter industry with the release of Delta’s new generation of solar inverters, which use SiC power MOSFETs from Cree. The specialist manufacturer of power quality analysers – Outram Research - has announced that the PM7000 has an improved “Interharmonics” option making it the first power quality analyser to record simultaneously all harmonics up to the 100th, on all three phases and the neutral, on either current or voltage. This new functionality makes it possible for engineers to now analyse quickly and then eliminate power quality problems found due to high-frequency harmonics generated by uninterruptable power supplies (UPSs), drives or inverters.

CUI Inc has introduced its second generation of low power, board mount dc-dc converters with improved efficiency, isolation, and thermal performance compared to existing products. The unregulated dc-dc modules are available in 1 W and 2 W configurations, featuring 1.5 kVdc isolation and anti-static protection up to 8 kVdc.
