Members of ESCO, (the Electronic Systems Community, formerly the UK Electronics Alliance) together with representatives from the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) will, with cross industry support, host a meeting address the subject of Counterfeit Avoidance in the UK electronic components supply network in London at the end of February.

The twentieth productronica is due to open in a few days and this world trade fair will be supported by a broad programme of events, forums and live demonstrations. Held every two years in Munich the event includes a CEO Roundtable, which this year focuses on Industry 4.0. The event is intended to promote the sharing of ideas and information across the electronics production sector and the productronica Forum and Innovations Forum Lectures will highlight a number of key topics and exhibition sectors.

From the 10th to the 13th September the military world will be descending on ExCeL exhibition centre in London’s docklands. The Defence and Security International (DSEi) is a global showcase for innovative defence and security equipment. This year the show’s organisers are having to strike a balance between the established western markets such as the UK, USA, Germany, France and Canada while at the same time reflecting the growing importance of new markets in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

DSEI 2013 is set to feature its most comprehensive showcase of electronics and electronic warfare specialists at the ExCeL London, from 10-13 September. A diverse range of prime contractors and niche supplies have confirmed their presence and will be located within two dedicated capability pavilions in conjunction with a considerable presence of electronics exhibitors across the show floor.

XJTAG is running a free boundary scan training workshop at the UK"s Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, 12 June 2013. The free workshop aims to provide engineers with an introduction to boundary scan and to show how this innovative debug, test and programming process can be used throughout the product life cycle.

Specialist M2M distributor Anglia M2M has brought together a galaxy of industry technology leaders to present at a free M2M (Machine to Machine) communications seminar, covering the latest developments and encompassing all the major technologies. Held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium in Reading on Tuesday June 18th, the seminar will cover all aspects of M2M connectivity for embedded platforms.

Nordic Semiconductor is hosting a series of seminars in conjunction with Rutronik on the new nRF51 Series. These events, across Europe, will enable embedded application development engineers the opportunity to meet directly with experts associated with the nRF51 Series. The full-day seminars will be held in April and May in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland and Germany.

Fortronic has confirmed that Dr Roland Schultz, Applications Engineer for Optical Design from Osram Solid State Lighting will be presenting a paper at the upcoming LED & Lighting Design Forum on 26 March. Dr Schulz will present a paper on High Power LED Design Considerations and along with his colleague, Colin Beale, Technical Sales Manager at Osram, will also be running a 1 hour workshop on the Quality of Light.

MSC Gleichmann has announced that it will be running a one-day workshop targeting hardware and software design engineers who are considering a graphical LCD user interface for their next embedded application. This full-day, hands-on training, focused on the Renesas 32-bit RX-series microcontroller development environment, will take place at the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull, West Midlands on Thursday 14 March.

GOEPEL electronics has announced that it will be holding its annual UK Technology Day on March 14th, 2012 at the Duxford Imperial War Museum. This one day event is a mixture of seminar and workshop sessions, where participants can gain deeper insight into the latest capabilities of test technologies including: Embedded System Access (ESA) including JTAG/Boundary Scan, Automated Optical Inspection, Automated X-Ray Inspection and 3D Solder Paste Inspection.
